Birthday Girl

Well Isley is officially one whole year old. We had a great little party with family and good friends. Isley had a grand ole' time and made out with some pretty neat stuff. We even had to wake up at 5:30 the next morning to play with them all.
I would list out all of her milestones, but I think they are the same as every other one year old out there- clap, wave, point, say "mama" and "dada", etc. etc. She does have a new trick she is working on. I thought for sure her first steps would be letting go of the couch and venturing out, but she started to stand up in the middle of the room- nothing to hold on to. She just gets up and stands there with a big grin on her face- she even bounces a little like she is going to take a step. I thought it wold be another few months before she started walking, but at this rate, it is only going to be a couple of weeks before she takes her first step!!
She is healthy (29.5" (50%) and 18.2 lbs (15%)- she is a skinny little thing) and happy and that is all we could ever ask for.

Her new trick!

Birthday cake! (She only had about 2 bites and was done- to my relief)

Birthday Dinner.
Her new lion- she can ride or push around.

5:30am Sunday morning- enjoying the loot.

She has been pushing this thing all over the house- good thing the music turns off or Corey would have kicked it down the stairs.

Our friend Jen picked this out for Isley- and it is a hit. She no longe wants rides in the duck- she wants daddy to push her around the house FAST!

Mom's Day

This is a little late in posting, but oh well. We had a wonderful Mother's Day- had french toast and berries for breakfast and had my family over for kabobs that night.
I was showing a picture of Isley to a coworker and said "This is my daughter" and felt so strange. I still find it really wierd that I am a mother- I love it more than anything, but still not use to calling myself a mom. I never thought being a mom could be so rewarding or that I could feel such overwhelming love and happiness over the tinest of things.
I am also lucky to have an amazing mother myself. She is one the most selfless people I know, never hesitating to do something for Corey and I or my brothers. Corey and I always talked about living somewhere else, but in the end came back to IF for jobs. I can't imagine being somewhere else- away from my family. My mom is always there to help us out, wether it be picking us up from the bars, watching Isley until 3am while we pack out an elk or just running errands with Isley and I and chatting. She is a beautiful, strong, caring women who has taught me to be the person I am today. Love her more than words can express.

Isley went crazy over blueberries- we found them stuck to her bottom all day long. And she was stained blue for most of the day.

Trying to get a cute pic of the 2 of us...

This is her birthday dress- which is next weekend (trying not to remind myself so I don't cry all week long)

Through the window

Isley loves to look out the window at the puppies. She races over when they appear and slaps the window and screams with delight. The pups are liking her more and more too- they sniff her and look for hidden treats that may be stuck to her legs or bottom after lunch...
Her bottom two teeth are in and now her top teeth are coming. She has one big front tooth that you can see and the other is right behind. Corey says they look like my "big buck teeth".
I think she is starting to look like my baby pictures- I'll have to post a few sometime. We just can't seem to get enough of her.

Heading to the window.
Puppies!!!

Doll face.
Still playing with the safety kit. I finally took the plug-in protectors away because I didn't want them to get stuck in her mouth.
