Beer and Smiles

Quinn has been smiling so much lately. She started at about 6 weeks- Isley didn't smile until 8 weeks so at first I didn't think they were real smiles, but they are. She is starting to coo a little too- I love when they start to interact. She smiles biggest when Isley and I sing "Peter, Peter Pumpkin Eater" to her.
Getting ready to play in the snow. She has had the same coat since she was 6 months old so I finally bought a new one for next year. She has worn it a few times this winter though- to break it in.

For some reason every time Isley sees beer she grabs one for Corey and brings it to him or puts in his spot at the table. It is pretty funny. As long as she doesn't drink any...

My days and nights

On maternity leave in this weather I have to find lots of things for us to do. We hit the gym for stroller bootcamp 3x a week, try to jog outside another 3 times, head to the river to run around and fee the ducks, or walk to one of the many elementary schools nearby. If it is really nasty out (our 60 mph winds a few weeks ago) we head to the mall and play on the toys and ride the escalator. Anyway-here are some pics of our days.

Hard to get a good pic of the 3 of us by myself.

Every night (and nap time) the three of us jump into bed and read a few books. Then we do lights off (and Isley has about 6 things she has to do before she gets settled in to waste time!), snuggle, talk, go through our nursery rhymes and sing a little. Isley is a bit talker at bed time. Sometime right before she zonks out she will blurt out funny things- the last one was that Ash shouldn't potty on Koal. All in all it takes about an hour before I am outta there. But I wouldn't trade it for anything- I enjoy the snuggle time with my girls.

Double Jogger

The double stroller made it, but the weather has not been corporating. We have made it out a few times, but now the snow has been coming and the wind has been howling. Oh well- I have been able to get out about 4 times a week so that makes a big difference. The girls seem to like jogging!

Carlos

I have been trying to cature a few precious moments of Quinn- and have caught a few. Isley likes to join in the pics too so I have a bunch of pics of Quinn laying peacefully with Isley smothering her to get in the pic. Pics we will treasure forever.
Isley and Quinn will be sharing a room for a while once Q is out of our room. We moved the crib to the corner and it made the perfect hiding spot for Isley. She is constantly going back there sometimes to get away from us- little stinker.

Perfect hiding spot.

She drags her doll back there with her sometimes- his name is Carlos. Corey decided on the name!

Some pics

Just some pics of the girls. They are both keeping me happy at home. I don't know how to rotate the pics so sorry.
Girls are doing well- growing all the time. Isley is a little sponge these days- counting to 20, saying ABC's and learning new songs, animals, words. She is super smart- or so we think so.

Little Goat

So things are going great. Isley is super with her baby sister and helps out whenever she can. Still a mommy's girl, but shares me with Quinn well.
Quinn is doing well- already gained over a pound in three weeks- such a little moose. Sleeps at nights really well and starting to stay awake in the day a little more. She makes all sorts of grunts and growels at night- we think she sounds like a little goat in our room- which takes Corey back to hunting season with his goats in the mountains! HA!
Both girls are doing great and I love staying home with them. Isley is pretty content staying at home with us too!
Glad it is a mild winter so we can get out for walks and a few runs. Our double jogger just got here today so we will be trying it out this weekend! Can't wait to finally be able to get out around the greenbelt everyday!

Quinn Corey

She finally made her debut. Everyone says that the second baby comes a lot faster, well not in our case. Had some false labor the Saturday before she was born that got us all fired up. Just as we were packing for the hospital they stopped. For the next few days contractions came and went on a regular basis. Finally on Wednesday after work my contrations held steady and we called my mom at midnight to head to the hospital. At the hosptial I didn't progress AT ALL. When they told me I should just go home, I was really upset- shed a few tears then packed up and left.
We got home at 11am and I had contractions all day long about 5-10 minutes apart. After no sleep the night before we jumped into bed to catch some much needed zzz's. At 3:30am I was awaken with some really strong contractions. I held out at long as I could, got some work in, took the dogs for a walk and finally at 6:50am I told Corey we needed to head back to the hospital. We dropped Isley off at daycare and raced to the hospital. Expecting our old room, we were told they were almost full!!! Luckily they had a room left for us. I was admitted and within 4 hours Quinn Corey made her debut at 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.25 inches. Just perfect- and it only took 36 hours!
She is doing well and Isley is adjusting great. Having mom at the hospital was the worst part for her, but I got out early and so she only had one night without me.
We are all doing well- Quinn is happy and healthy, Isley is a great helper and still on the go. Our family is now complete and perfect (we will not be trying one more time for a boy... in case you were wondering).

Baby Quinn.

Isley holding her baby sister and giving kisses.

Isley's "cheese please" face.
